Content Writing Services: Google browses the web constantly with what they call “Spiders”. These spiders crawl over each page of your site and determine two very important factors:
The more original, unique and relevant content on your page, the longer visitors will stay on that page. The longer visitors stay will determine your Page Rank. The higher the Page Rank you are assigned the easier it is to find your site when performing a search. This is also referred to as an Organic Ranking or how well you rank Organically.
The key here is to keep adding to your original content. So the next time Google Spiders come back to look at your site, they will see new original content and reward you for all your hard work. Remember, Google see’s your website as a service before a business. Meaning what can you provide for free in terms of unique and valuable information is president over selling a product. The more relevancy and attention you give your site, the more you will be rewarded by Google.
It may be tempting but Duplicating Content will send out a red flag and may get you dropped way down in the ranks so your site will get little to no exposure. Google uses algorithms to cross reference content among millions of sites constantly and if you are duplicating, they will find you. Not to mention if you duplicate information from another source without permission, you could be infringing on copyright laws which could lead to legal headache. This excludes blogs from other sites, RSS feeds and other services you have “subscribed” to and in some cases, automatically post to your site. These subscriptions will help a little in gaining traffic to your site but are not rewarded as much as Original Content.
If it is essential to duplicate part or all of an article that you have not subscribed to, follow these steps:
When in doubt, always cite the original source and if you are not sure where the article originated, the best practice is to play it safe and not duplicate.
